Writing the regulation

We met at Ofcom, the UK's online safety regulator, during the rollout of the Online Safety Act. We saw first-hand what regulators expect of platforms, in the UK and beyond.

Studying what works

We founded Illuminate Tech to research what actually works: designing the evaluation methodology for the Australian Government's age assurance trial, and supporting platforms directly through risk assessments and benchmarking.

Building Oscar

We had an idea: if a tool could understand how platform design leads to risk, and how that risk can be effectively mitigated, companies could comply with overlapping regulation far more efficiently and effectively. Oscar was born.
